Interesting article, I wouldn't be surprised if that was an important factor in choosing the 1419 start.

Other "coincidences" regarding the Romanians, but at the other end:

Dobrudja was ceded by Wallachia to the Ottomans in 1417.
Mircea the Elder dies in 1418.

Not to mention they forgot to put Moldova in the alliance with Poland and Lithuania. Nah; there's no way to be certain that the Napoleonic events are going to end by 1815. This gives a little nice space, as well as making the 400 years thing come true.
