To be honest i was very sceptical at first but bought the dlc anyway. After an extensive playtrough over the weekend i have to say i really like it now. It adds some flavor to the later game, which allways seemed a bit boring to me.
Interesting that we haven't seen a surge of SI AARs, each prevous major DLC saw a bump in them.
I'm not a fan of this DLC, and don't buy the "no time was wasted" argument (was it the product of labor of people who work at your company? If so, it consumed manhours of work time. If not, then why are you selling someone else's property?), so I won't be buying it.
However, I've said before that a Mesoamerica mod would be very cool.
I'm not saying I know what happens in Paradox, but my theory is that SI was byproduct of EUIV, after all Mesoamerica is popular topic in EUIV forum and Paradox is making historical research and graphics for Native American nations. So maybe they use some of the stuff they used in DLC also in EUIV.
Why would you want to buy it, if you don't want it in game?Actually, you can buy the DLC and then tick it off in the launcher box, so you are sure it won't be used in your game.
Then just turn on the paradox data tracking (Help us improve ...) for your CK2, so you deliver them the message "I don't want ..." each time you run the game.

What if I only want potatoes but no Aztecs?
IIRC Paradox contracted other people to make it for them. It didn't take up time on Paradox's schedule.
Are you telling me that we're THREE DLCs away from playable Potatoes!? Damn you Paradox!
Yes, and it rang hollow each and every time time they explained it. Now they've even got some of us repeating the absurd line for them.Paradox has already explained several times why no time was "wasted" on this DLC, but you're right: your wallet is still the most effective way to vote.
You already have a game called EU3 that introduces American plants and animals to late Medieval / early Modern Europe.
