I don't want the Aztecs in my games, is there any point in buying the DLC?

Like I say, I have no desire to have the Aztecs appearing in my playthroughs, is there any point in me buying this DLC? Does it offer anything other then the Aztecs invading?

I mean, if there were some mods out there that used the Aztec stuff to say create a Mesoamerican Scenario (or just allow more interesting faces or something) then it might be worthwhile, but I don't know if anything like that exists.

Actually, you can buy the DLC and then tick it off in the launcher box, so you are sure it won't be used in your game.

Then just turn on the paradox data tracking (Help us improve ...) for your CK2, so you deliver them the message "I don't want ..." each time you run the game.

It's a much bigger "I don't want" if no one buys this silly DLC.

If you don't plan on playing with the Sunset Invasion events, then there's no need for you to buy it. I'd rather save my money on an upcoming Pagan or Republic DLC instead.

People have different definitions of fun, and for people like me, fun in CK is creating a realistic alternative history without having to worry about threats that were as prominent as ancient aliens. I think people are mad because of the assumption that Paradox paid more attention to Sunset Invasion over other things such as a Pagan DLC. I don't really mind, since none of us players can decide on their work schedule. I just find the complaints off-hand for content that is pretty much optional.

I'm debating on buying this myself. I don't need everything to be serious but I'd rather a deepening and expanding of what the game already has to offer. I don't see what this DLC brings to the table that isn't already available.

You're right -- and that is a legitimate concern. Just as it is a legitimate complaint that other people have a different definition of 'fun,' one that does not include having Aztecs in 13th century Europe. And that's dandy. Buuuut I'm just used to people raging over the issue.

I don't plan on ever getting the Aztec DLC, so am glad they didn't try to force it by attaching features useful in traditional play of the game in with it. Way too much of a 'fantasy' scenario in my opinion, compared with an alternative history present in playing the game as is.

GamersGate has put the Sword of Islam DLC on sale for about $2.95 at the same time, and I couldn't resist getting that! Big savings there if you'd skipped it before and decide you want to expand game playability now.

Some people think dressing up in animal costumes to engage in adult behavior is fun. Some people think Aztecs in a game like Crusader Kings 2 is fun. I'm not a member of either of those groups, and would be disappointed if any of the small companies whose products I regularly consume were to devote resources into developing products for either of those groups.

Paradox has already explained several times why no time was "wasted" on this DLC, but you're right: your wallet is still the most effective way to vote.
