I Dont Want Japan

I'm Germany and I do not want Japan in my club. So far, they are nuetral and I havent courted them...or even taked to them...I can handle the world with out them (already have Italy, Have puppeted Britain and conquered most of the middle east. I have Russia on the ropes too.) I'd rather have Japan neutral so they can fight the US without dragging ME into the war . Is that possible? Will Japan automatically join the axis at some point without me inviting them? If that could or eventually will happen, would I be better off declaring war on Japan? Anybody done that? Would the US cut me some slack if we were both fighting the same enemy? (they are neutral as well and are not hassling me as yet.) Do I have to fear Japans Navy sailing around the globe to attack me in the Atlantic? Whats my favorite color? How much do I weigh...oops, sorry; got carried away with questions. Scratch the last two.

I've TAKEN Moscow...and Stalingrad and Leningrad.........actually had BITTER PEACE. Then, after I moved all my troops up to the NEW border with Russia and gave them the chance to get back to full strength, I declared war on Russia (sort of like accepting peace in Civ with a bribe then declaring war on the next turn anyway.) Japan HAS NOT joined the axis...and I'd like it to stay that way. The scripted event you guys said would happen has not.

Japan pretty much follows historical lines in the game -- historically they weren't allied with Germany, the Tripartite Pact was simply a pact of mutual assistance. If you don't invite them you won't have a problem. Be sure you're playing 1.02 at least, and one of the better mods if you want. Japan won't be sending ships to the Med then like they did in 1.01.

Oh, and "blue" and 192 lbs.

Thanks for the info. BTW, I dont want japan because I dont want the USA declaring war on me. Right now, Japan is at war with the US...let it stay that way. I want to be left out of it until I finish off the Soviet Union...but that will take a while as its so frickkin big. I cant get to all the key cities yet.

Shouldn't Japan join the axis some of the time though? After all I've had Franco's Spain, a couped Republican Spain and Yugoslavia in the axis before. I've also had Latvia, Lithuania (though not Estonia) join. Only Japan and Turkey and Vichy have never signed up for mw me in the game.

Under 1.02b bolted I've still never seen Japan be at war with SU, ever. I might be unlucky, or it might not be possible, and while highly improbable, isn't the whole point of playing 1936 to change history?

After all, so many times the answer why AI Germany doesn't take France out is that the game is a departure from RL, shouldn't that also apply to alliances?

I've seen it. I played nationalist China and Japan declared war on both me and SU (not allied) shortly after eachother. In 1938, I think. But that was in 1.01.

I had Japan in the Axis with me on a previous game, but I had to court them and invite them in. But because they were at war with the USA, the USA declared war on me. At that time, the US wasnt much of a bother....yet. A few transports here and there with invasion troops that were easily defeated. The navy was a problem though.

1) I've had Japan join uninvited
2) If you're Germany playing SP, why are you afraid of the United States? I've never had the US be anything but a nonentity. Well, they did take Reykjavik from me once. With the AI's pitiful amphibious performance, the US is no threat to Germany.

not afraid of the US. Just want to fight one monster at a time. When i'm thru wiping my butt with the Russians, THEN I want to take on the US. On my terms, on my schedule.
