i dont understand why i can't play at stellaris

When I click on the desktop icon or the Play button on the Steam app, the message that it is preparing to launch Stellaris appears and then nothing happens but the game is running in my Task Manager,i try to reinstall and delete the folder paradox nothing works.
if someone can help me thanks

my specs:
windows 7 64bits
intel i5 750 2;5gh
radeon 470

Hmmm, alright try this.

1. Quit steam
   
2. Go to where your steam is installed
3. delete everything but your "steamapps" folder and your "steam.exe" file
4. Double click the "steam.exe" file

The above will redownload steam to the latest version and get rid of any unnecessary files. You will not lose any of your installed games if you do this.

Okay so you tried my first suggestion and no luck?

Next suggestion, try turning steam into offline mode and then run the game. Also, try doing this from your steam library rather than the shortcut.

Has the game ever run Ok for you on this computer? Or never?

If not:
Let's look at a few things that cover the most common causes of this:

Do you see the game's launcher and the crash happens after that? Or is the crash before the launcher even comes up?

If it shows up, please change the game's resolution in the Launcher (gear icon, lower left) to match your computer's desktop - commonly 1920x1080.


Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\ and run dxsetup.exe
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\ and run vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris\_CommonRedist\DotNet\4.0 Client Profile\ and run dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe


Does there exist a folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ ? If not, most likely you have Bitdefender or ESET and that app is getting in the way. Add stellaris.exe to its Trusted List and you should be OK from there. This may also apply to other anti-virus or security apps.

Also if you have the MSI Gaming App installed, disable it as it clashes with this game.

If they don't help or don't apply: DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log .


IF IT USED TO WORK:
Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

so hum thanks for helping me but my problem it's not really a crash because stellaris is running, i see it in my task manager i just can't play it.
i cant attach my setting.txt. and my system.log because i dont have this file in my paradox document.

If the game actually started, you must have the documents/paradox/stellaris folder and its contents!

Did you go through each one of those several things I listed? Because you don't even mention them ...

-i dont have the luncher so i can't the first thing
-already done= didn't work
-i don't have eset and bitdenfer

One more possibility that can cause the failure to create the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ folder, is if the Documents folder has previously been moved so the game can't find it. Is that possible?

Use Notepad to make a new text file called userdir.txt in the Steam Stellaris folder where stellaris.exe is. In that file place a single dot, save and exit. This tells the game to write the user files right there instead of under Documents. If that works and the game now runs, you can replace that dot with any file path you like.
