I haven't played for a while, so I don't know, if they changed the rules for it (my last knowledge is development > everything else):
I'm playing as Denmark and I have RMs with France and Castile. France has RMs with me and Castile. Castile with me and France (something, something alliance of doom).
The queen of France is 56 and a de Valois and he has no heir. Castile is in a regency council with a male Trastamara. I have a queen from house Wittelsbach.
If the queen of France dies, a Trastamara will succeeds to the throne, although I have more prestige, more development, more legitimacy... to summarize it: I'm superior to Castile, still, my dynasty will not get the throne.
Never encountered a situation like this. Have female rulers restrictions or is it a problem, that I'm Protestant or is there something else?
