I.. don't understand, can you not get achievements offline?

I thought you could get achievements even if you were offline, or at least when you came back online and restarted the game, I remember it working with EU4 just fine.

I have to spend another 5 years in-game because my connection went out? Awww, come on.

Hey now, it's an old game, things might've changed around a couple of times. lol.

In EU4 any achievements you qualify for will pop up when you next go online.

In Hoi 4 you can work towards them offline, but if you are not online you meet the requirements to trigger it then you will not get the achievement when you go online.

Steam supports earning achievements offline. This is on Paradox.

I never really agreed that achievements should require an online connection and ironman mode. Not that I care about achievements, but if I accomplish something, why not give me the achievement. If people want others to know they earned their achievements, without the help of savescumming, there could be two achievement sets, one for vanilla/offline and one for ironman.
