Well I've never seen anything like this happen, so I just wanted to share this with you BBB haters and lovers. Defeating France is one thing, but seeing them just crumbling to pieces without any war at all is something else. In my current game they just fell apart by themselves. I (as Meissen) wasn't involved at all, nor was England or Castille.

I didn't meddle in this at all. No wars, no spies, I only helped the revolters out a bit by fighting their rebels.

They got a 'Civil War' event... Havent seen that much either. What does it do? On top of that they got excommunicated all the time and an enormous amount of religious rebels. Apparently that's too much even for France's monstrous manpower.

It's sort of a mixed blessing. I think I could have handled France eventually, and that would have been a challenge. But on the other hand I'm really enjoying this variety of nations and colours in the place where France would usually be :p

I've seen Burgundy come out on top a few times. If only they'd realize that they are no match for Bohemia-as-HRE in 1399, they'd be succesful more often.

I really want to know what that game is gonna look like, is Liege gonna be the next France or is England taking advantage in France or are even the german and Italian minors gonna expand towards France now. Also Castille and Aragon could conquer France, this is really intresting i'd like to hear more from this game. :)

I'll keep you updated then :p England and Spain have been extremely timid the last century. Don't know why.

For now, it seems Liege and Flanders are more or less equal in power. Both now have cores on all their new provinces so they're relatively strong. But Liege has the disadvantages of being 1) a Theocracy and 2) cut in half. If I don't interfere, I expect Flanders will come out on top and maybe form the Netherlands.

I think I've twice used sow discontent, and funded a bunch of nationalists, and gotten a ring of enemies around France (got Foix to get almost as powerful as France), but the BBB always bounded back. At the moment, I've got more power to sustain a war over time, while the BBB has its forces all concentrated in small areas, as doomstacks (overall we have roughly the same amount of forces, but I can't use all as last time I used all against BBB the Netherlands backstabbed me, temporarily taking control of northern Germany).

I believe nothing other than this civil war, or reducing the BBB to 4 provinces max would stop them from forming the huge blob again.

What would I give to have the situation like this, in my game...

Of course, during one of my (fairly short) wars with France, I probably could have gotten this result, by just getting 100% WS and increasing their WE; only I just wanted Rousillon, Languedoc and Provence. I didn't care about them releasing more states, I just wanted the darn wars to end and to have some peace with my peaceful king (I've had diplomatic kings for a while now; I've come to take it for granted that diplo-annexations will always work, with 2-3 tries).

Now I regret not having driven them further into the dust, as they destroyed Foix (which used to own half of France), Luxembourg, Provence, and Burgundy (curiously, Toulouse was freed, though). At least the whole west coast of France is held by the British (who seem to be France's friends these days), and the Med. coast is held by myself. The major problem with a war with France (I've already gotten a CB on them as I pressed a border dispute for a territory), is that Great Britain guarentees France for some reason (idiots). They also guarentee the Netherlands. Therefore, any attempt at war and I'm in a major fix with a major naval war (which probably won't go too well; my fleet is about the same size but they've got some naval NI's and admirals).
