I did the Big Blue Blob, it was too EZ!

I recently came back to EU4 after a significant hiatus, even though I kept following the dev diaries closely, and I decided to play France. Mind you, I play mostly in and south and north of Eastern Europe. But I decided to “casually” go for the Big Blue Blob achievement, which I had achieved previously, but I like it as I am a major blobber by nature.

And I made it!

Using mostly the diplomatic macro builder to improve relations...
With no planning...
Finished coring early in 1498...
With 100 and 8 provinces...
With two African adventures...
Defeating a capital M and C Major Coalition...
With a no DOWable 14 year regency...

My France was fully stable by 1500 and ready to keep going.

Yes. I’m bragging. I didn’t think I was THAT good, I still don’t, which is why I’m writing this. I remember this achievement being crazy hard. I remember rerolling to get the perfect advisors, rivals, and what not. Has it gotten easier since it was introduced due to some changes and additions that have been made since then?

Well compare to when the achievement came out, it is a bit easier. There are a lot more provinces in ireland, norway, sweden and russia area compared to back then.

That can’t be it. Paper mana was never the issue, since to avoid coalitions one has to take provinces that are as far as it gets from the HRE. Those provinces often have low development.

It helps, though - especially alongside the increase in the amount of crapclay in Europe compared to previous versions.

BBB has been a joke achievement for a while now. Even Arumba managed to get it.

Playing as France is easy most of the time unless you get too aggressive or attack someone and the war drags long with multiple battles that drain your manpower then some else declares war on you right when you think it is over.

I know the achievement itself requires starting as France, but for extra credit do it with another nation so that you'd have to start by first forming France.

Try doing it with a continuous territory, a little harder than with low provinces in Balkans/Russia

I first accomplished it when it was first added to the game, and indeed, pretty much all of it went into coring, but even with adviser level 1, there was just enough of it.

Playing as France is easy most of the time unless you get too aggressive or attack someone and the war drags long with multiple battles that drain your manpower then some else declares war on you right when you think it is over.

So it's easy until it gets hard? I'm inclined to agree .
