I can't load any saved games!

I recently installed HOI2 and the latest patch, and have been playing the game with no problems until . . . I started the 1936 campaign with Germany and eventually saved my game and quit. When I came back later to load it, clicking on it (and all the other auto-saved games) did nothing. Anyone else have this problem?

By do nothing what does that mean, did the HD light go on, did the program lock up, the whole system ...

I mean nothing happened. The game didn't lock up, and the hard disk light didn't come on. It's as if the game didn't even recognize I was clicking on the saved game file. Every other button on the screen (campaigns and country flags) did respond however.

You must click on the save game, select your country to play and then click start
