I can't get get it to work. Argh!

When I install TRP to my computer C/:...Paradox Interactive/, like the heading suggests, first the TRP icon on the desktop says it can't find the HOI.exe, so I hook it up to Doomsday's HOI.exe.

When theat happens, I I get is the option to play an overly large version of Doomsday. I can't get to the start button and there's no indication the '36 scenario is the TRP any way. So what should I do?

Please follow the installation instructions posted on the download page. The errors you are describing are typical when someone just downloads the mod and runs the exe withought reading the instructions.

OK, I found the instructions and performed them as required. Now the TRP works EXCEPT the start menu is about two to three times as big as normal and as a result I cannot get to the start button. I can't play the thing at all.

Yes, the start menu is too big! Thank you for the help though.

EDIT: the oversized menu seems to happen when I click on the desktop icon, but the in folder exe file works fine.

BUT! the computer doesn't seem to be able to read any of the ai files, esepcially the minor nations AI files. I certainly have no idea how to fix this. Is this one of the bugs you guys said the program has?

Did you rember to patch the game before installing TRP

He may have to reinstall and do everything from scratch.

if you make a copy of the game, patching the game, than when you installing trp, you should install the mod to the doomsday folder, not to the doomsday/TRP folder. Than you have to run hoi2 .exe only. But be careful! Make a copy of the game, or your previous games will be deleted!

And I'm getting about six dozen error messages when loading up the campaign, most of which complain about ai/default_ai.txt or ai/default_minor_ai.txt or something like that.

Is this a known error?

I had similar problems, this is how I got it to work.

1) Fresh DD install and patch.
2) Install the TRP to a different directory aka d:/games/pdx/TRP ... not the DD directory.
3) I then transfered the contents of the TRP directory to the DD directory, overwrighting all files
4) I then copied the 0.91 details into the DD folder.
5) I launched from the Doomsday desktop icon, NOT the TRP icon. I found the TRP icon didn't work, and assumed it had something to do with the 'windowed' command in the execution box.

I think this is because there are no AI files in your folder.They should be in ai_old,or something like that.About Easy-Kill,remove WINDOWED from icon properties.

It typically means the batch file did not run. When you did the install and you get the AI file errors go to the folder you isntalled TRP and run the bat file (ONLY ONCE DO NOT RUN IT A SECOND TIME!) it should solve the problem.
