I can't get achievements anymore with my file

So the launcher used to crash the game because my antivirus felt like it was a threat. Until I realised, I had to enter the game through a direct access. One day the game looked like it was going to crash, said it couldn´t find steam, and then started running. When I loaded my game I couldn't earn achievements anymore. Is there so way to fix it? Have I seriously wasted 50 hours trying to get this difficult achievement for nothing?

Before anybody says anything, I didn't have mods, of course it was Ironman and I got before some achievements with it. Now it says another person might have played, the file is edited, or I installed incompatible mods. I´m legitimately mad at it. All I want is to get my achievements, do I really need to start again?

I'm afraid so ... once a save file stops being able to earn achievements it can't be changed or edited to be able to earn them again. If that was possible anyone could cheat their way to any achievement!

The question is why this happened to this save. I've seen this occasionally when there was a game or computer crash while writing out the save file, or Steam or the internet go offline for a while. Did anything like that happen?

Also, we should really address your launcher AV app issue; in all honesty I'm a little surprised you could earn achievements at all after running eu4.exe directly! What antivirus app do you use? What launcher version do you see?

Yesterday I was able to fix the launcher. The antivirus had quarantined it, which surprisingly, was something anybody couldn't tell me before. I ran the game with its own .exe, which is possible and you still earn achievements if you are logged in in steam. This is incredibly frustrating, you may have no idea of how angry I am right now. How can loading your own game disallow achievements? I´m so mad that I lost all my Prester John progress, in this difficult run I had particular luck, I was even able to cut off Ottoman expansion early on, I had a 6/5/6 heir, I got the Solomonids in the Hungarian throne...

What caused the issue was loading the game before I was logged in Steam, power had gone out... It had already happened to me before and I cannot even conceive how is this possible. Paradox bugs have caused me to lose a lot of time...

I'm having a little trouble following what exactly happened here, sorry. You ran the game from eu4.exe while Steam was not running, or at least you were not logged into Steam? If so, obviously you won't be able to register achievements with Steam at that time, but I would have thought once the game ran from Steam again they would be registered then - I believe that's how it is supposed to work with Steam anyway.
