I can not connect to mp

When ever I try to join or host a game online it will grey out the option to join it this has happened for a couple of months and I am finally getting around to try and fix it. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it to no success any ideas on how to fix this?

Ugh! Sounds like a frustrating experience.

Some other multiplayer games (made by other companies) are oh-so-easy to join.

But, as you've experienced, it is difficult to join a multiplayer HoI4 game.

One of our players in our multiplayer group has more than 4000 hours logged in playing HoI4...yesterday, he could not join for more than 40 minutes. A similar thing occurred last week. It is not easy to join a multiplayer game. Not easy at all. Not even for a group of players with a combined playing time of more than 30,000 hours.

It sounds like you did all the right things, to include uninstalling.

I agree...It shouldn't have to be this hard.

The purpose of this post is for documentation purposes in order to demonstrate that the OP isn't the only one have trouble joining or setting up a multiplayer game.

Does anyone else have trouble connecting when setting up MP games? Through the last couple of weeks me and my friends (4-5 people) have had continuous problems on various versions of 1.9.1. It is not that we desync, we simply have trouble connecting to the lobby in the first place. We have tried different hosts, restarted steam and the game, cleared cache, etc. the weird part is that sometimes it works, but more often than not, at least one player cannot connect. And not the same one.

Does anyone have similar issues?

When all is said and done,

1. HoI4 players will push a button to join a multiplayer game.
2. The will join the multiplayer game without a hiccup.
3. The host will launch the game without a problem.
4. Gamers will have fun.

Me and my friend were doing a USA vs. Japan play through, this was out first multiplayer game and we played for a few hours and got off, we got back on later that day exited to continue the game but neither of us could figure out how to put the game back up. we both had saves of the game and as the host i couldnt find out how to fix this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated!

The purpose of including the above quote is to add evidence to the argument, "It is sometimes difficult to join an HoI4 multiplayer game."
