I bought HOI2:DD:Armageddon on Gamersgate NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM!

I recently bought HOI2 DD:Armageddon, off of Gamers Gate. I downloaded it and now when I go to start up Armageddon, I get a message saying: Hearts Of Iron 2 Beta: "Please install the latest milestone" then it goes right into a windows error screen. I searched the treads for a fix, but I didn't find one. Can anyone help me with this???

You do have Doomsday?

Install Armageddon in the DD folder.

Yeah I have DD, I just downloaded, Armageddon. And installed it...not that I installed it how do I get it moved to my DD folder? Or how should I go about this??

This doesn't fix the problem....any other ideas I installed the DD Armageddon into the HOI2DD folder. Still the same thing.

I have the same issue. Though I'm on a laptop now, it certainly worked with a stationary computer.

So you got it to work on your laptop, but not the desktop? Did you get the problem fixed??

More than likely what happened is you installed it into the wrong directory instead of your Doomsday Directory.

You must have Doomsday installed. If you installed Armageddon into the wrong directory then go to the Directory you instaleld it and highlight all the files and folders and hit CTRL+C to Copy. Then go into your Doomsday folder and hit CTRL+V to paste. Then go to your Armageddon desktop icon and make sure that it is executing the EXE in the Doomsday folder and that the Start In path is pointing to your Doomsday folder as well.

I know I have to have Doomsday installed....which I do. I installed it to my doomsday directory. Here is what the desktop icon path name is:
"C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday\Doomsday\HoI2.exe"

And I still get no luck.....

The installation process for this product is ridiculously retarded and clunky. The instructions for offline installation posted in Gamersgate's FAQ do not work as outlined. Lothos, I did exactly as you said and followed Gamersgate's FAQ to the letter as well for both the online desktop and the offline laptop. Still no luck.

Is there any way to simply extract files or cut-and-paste folders to play? If I can get it working with the online computer, can I not just burn the files, transfer them over to the laptop?

Thanks for the help. Sorry if I'm bitching. This is just more trouble than 4.99 is worth IMHO.

the way I did it is like this

I created a folder in my Paradox Interactive folder under Program Files called Armageddon.

I then installed Armageddon into that folder.

I then copied all of those files into the folder that Doomsday was installed in.

I then deleted the Armageddon icon on my desktop.

I then used my old Doomsday Icon to run the game.

Worked perfectly fine.

Thanks, Lothos, I'll give it a shot. I wasn't sure if there was any authentication process that ran alongside Armageddon.

It seems to download fine. But when I click Install, a black DOS screen opens for a split second then closes. There's no Armageddon icon on the desktop. No error messages. Any ideas? Also, Gamersgate's FAQ refers to a serial number and where I can find it but my account screen does not show this information.

Gamersgate sent me an alternate setup.exe file (different size). Mine must have been corrupted somehow. Works fine now.

Yup, thats what they usually do if there is an issue. Their support is really great I have been very impressed with it. Sometimes it takes up to 3 days to get a reply but they have replied to EVERY email I have ever sent them.
