I asked an expert, because who knows better about the strenghts of a Machine Intelligence than a Machine Intelligence itself?

Me:
If you were to play as a Machine Gestalt Empire, what build would you use?
ChatGPT:
As a machine gestalt empire in Stellaris, there are several strategies you could use, depending on your playstyle and goals. Here are some general build recommendations for a machine gestalt empire:
  1. Focus on research: Machine gestalt empires have a strong affinity for technology and research, so focusing on building up your research capabilities would be a key part of your strategy. Invest in the Science Nexus and other research-boosting buildings to increase your research output.
  2. Build up your energy resources: Machine gestalt empires consume a lot of energy, so it's important to focus on building up your energy reserves. Invest in energy-producing buildings such as Solar Farms and Fusion Reactors, and prioritize technologies that increase your energy production.
  3. Emphasize efficiency and automation: Machine gestalt empires are known for their efficiency and automation, so it's important to build up your administrative capabilities. Invest in the Bureaucracy technology to increase the efficiency of your Clerks, and prioritize technologies that increase your resource production and trade value.
  4. Pursue diplomacy and trade: Machine gestalt empires can be strong traders, so it's important to focus on building up your trade capabilities. Pursue diplomatic relationships with other civilizations to secure trade deals and alliances, and prioritize technologies that increase your trade capabilities.
  5. Build up your military: While machine gestalt empires are not naturally warlike, it's still important to build up your military capabilities to protect your interests and defend against potential threats. Invest in military technologies and buildings, and prioritize the training of your military units.
Remember, these are just general recommendations, and the best build for a machine gestalt empire will depend on your specific goals and playstyle. Experiment with different builds and find what works best for you!

Me:
I have some issues with that answer. First, machine empires don't generate any trade value at all. They can trade resources with other empires, but they can't create the resource "trade". Second: In Stellaris automation is really just a feature to reduce micromanagement - let the game manage the production queue on some planets, for example. This feature is available to everyone. Third: I asked for a build - not for general gameplay advice.

ChatGPT:
I apologize for the incorrect information in my previous response. Allow me to correct that and provide a build specifically for a Machine Empire in Stellaris.
  1. Prioritize Energy Production: As a Machine Empire, your main resource is energy. You'll need to prioritize energy production as much as possible to support your empire's growth and operations. Focus on building energy-generating buildings such as Solar Farms, Fusion Reactors, and Power Generators, and invest in technologies that increase your energy production.
  2. Build Robotic Workers: Building robotic workers on your planets can help increase the efficiency of resource production. Focus on building Robotic Workshops and other buildings that increase the production of robots.
  3. Upgrade Your Power Grid: Upgrading your power grid will allow you to support more advanced technologies and buildings. Invest in technologies that increase the efficiency of your power grid and in buildings that store and distribute energy.
  4. Research Advanced Robotics: As a Machine Empire, you have an advantage in researching advanced robotics technologies. Focus on researching robotics-related technologies as early as possible, such as the Artificial Intelligence and Synapse Drone techs, as these can provide a significant boost to your empire's efficiency and capabilities.
  5. Focus on Expansion: As a Machine Empire, you have a large pool of robotic workers available to you, allowing for more rapid expansion compared to other empires. Focus on expanding your empire as quickly as possible, colonizing new planets and building outposts to increase your empire's reach.
  6. Pursue Military Dominance: While Machine Empires are not naturally warlike, it's still important to have a strong military presence to protect your interests and defend against potential threats. Focus on building up your military capabilities and research technologies that increase the efficiency and capabilities of your military units.
I hope this build provides a better starting point for your Machine Empire in Stellaris. Good luck, and have fun!
Me:
You misunderstand. When I ask for a build, I mean what Origin and Civics to pick, what the race traits should be.
ChatGPT:
I apologize for the confusion. Here is a recommended build for a Machine Empire in Stellaris:
  1. Origin: The Synthetic Ascension origin is a good choice for Machine Empires as it provides bonuses to energy production, research, and robotic worker production.
  2. Civics: The following Civics are recommended for Machine Empires:
    • Mechanist: This Civic provides bonuses to energy production and research, as well as increased capabilities for robotic workers.
    • Technocracy: This Civic provides bonuses to energy production and administrative efficiency, allowing for more efficient management of your empire.
    • Hive Mind: If you're interested in pursuing a hive mind playstyle, this Civic provides bonuses to unity generation, resource production, and happiness.
  3. Race Traits: The following Race Traits are recommended for Machine Empires:
    • Advanced Automation: This Race Trait provides bonuses to energy production and resource production, making it a great choice for Machine Empires.
    • Self-Sufficient: This Race Trait provides bonuses to resource production, making it a great choice for empires looking to maximize resource production.
    • Energy Grid: This Race Trait provides bonuses to energy production and storage, making it a great choice for Machine Empires focused on energy production.
I hope this build provides a good starting point for your Machine Empire in Stellaris. Remember, these are just recommendations and the best build for you will depend on your specific goals and playstyle. Experiment and have fun!

There you have it. The mostest OP machine empire build:
Synthetic Ascension Origin (which will surely be added with an upcoming patch) with Technocracy and Mechanist civic. You can skip Hive Mind for soooo many reasons, so you can use your third civic pick for something else.
The race traits were helpfully renamed from Superconductive and Efficient Processors into three differenc traits to avoid confusion.
But the big brain move is to not pick any negative traits, because that would be inefficient.
