I am not getting piety reward

I am playing William and after I conquered England I am giving away my churches. I am supposed to get 25 bonus in piety per church but my piety count is not moving at all. Does anyone as already had that kind of issue?

I'm pretty sure you only get piety for installing catholic bishops in *non* catholic lands. The lands in england are going to already be catholic, so you're just swapping one catholic bishop for another there.

You do not get piety for giving churches to bishops. Only If you gave it to the Pope you should get a piety reward. Also If you send them gold you also get a piety bonus.

Actually, i am pretty sure that in order to gain piety, you have to give them to landless courtiers. Sometimes it doesn't work though. No one understands how it works. The only way i am completely sure of is using the right click-create vassal option.
