It was going so well. The patriarch was a saintly figure, shepherding his Jewish followers from Tmutarakan to a safe haven in Mesopotamia. He made the difficult decision to gift away the rights to their homeland in exchange for managing the dangerous border of the Byzantine and Abbasid empire. It was the only way to allow expansion and avoid being under the thumb of the tyrannical Chieftan of Khumar and his vagabond allies. After asserting dominion over the lands of Daylam, the followers of Mazdayam protested greatly with every opportunity. The peace was fragile. Then, unexpectedly before passing from his mortal coil, his son and heir was murdered ... possibly by his jealous brother.

The throne falls to his thirteen year old granddaughter, under the careful guidance of her kindly rabbi uncle and aunt. She wants to find out who killed her father, though her tendency is of being shy and pensive. But a kingdom must be run, and questions must be asked. Her uncle suggests a childhood gathering, one last celebration with her friends.

Throwing caution to the wind, she climbs trees (stress), learns how to fight to defend herself, after all her father was murdered (stress), confronts a mean old lady who beats her with a stick (paranoia, stress), and gets bullied by her cousin (stress), and impatiently tries really hard to learn her tutor's language quickly (sooo much stress).

I somehow managed to drive this poor 13 year old ruler insane by the end of this playdate (360 cumulative stress).

I am a terrible person.

We are all terrible person in this game. Just finished a play session where my Indian Sultan, after he took power, tried to revoke one of his siblings land. Two years and a civil War later he beheaded all if his 5 brothers.
He didn't enjoyed his victory thought, one year later he received a bad wound while campaning in the Himalaya, and died few month later.

I often like to marry the mother of my wife and any tender young bastard daughters she may have had from previous relationships. I know it's not right but it feels so good.

It may "only be a video game" but I'm pretty sure I'm going to hell, for the intent alone.
