Hello

I am playing a campaign as Germany in DD/Arma 1.3, and am currently at my second round with the Soviets before a planned invasion of the US through Florida. I have researched all of the nesessary nuclear technologies and have a level 9 reactor sitting in Berlin producing bombs, but for some reason I am not able to build reactor number 10, which would give me the Hydrogen Bomb; it says I am missing the necessary technology, yet the Hydro tech has been researched. What am I missing? Do I need to research ICBMs for their delivery first, or what else could be needed?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I could have sworn I had a level 10 reactor as France, latest beta... I need to check my save file when I'm back with that computer.

I vaguely remember that you can do an exploit where after you researched the sixth nuclear tech (first of the secret weapon nuclear path), you can go into the build scheme and order a 5-parallel, 2-serial set of nuclear reactors which wound up to a total of 10, and that you can indeed place the 10th reactor down. It's very clearly an exploit and I'm not even certain if it does increase your nuclear production time more than a level 9 reactor does.

I'm not sure if you can do this in the latest Armageddon patches any more though.

Having said that, on topic answer: no, there is no legitimate level 10 reactor in the unmodded game. The hydrogen bomb tech adds to something else instead.

That's pretty much what I did, albeit unintentionally. For some reason that I can't remember now I built 5 reactors in one build, then when that had finished and I had the necessary techs I built another 5 in one run. It never even occured to me at the time that the limit would be less than ten, when it's ten for most other things.

With reactor level 6 you can build nukes, the furthers techs just increase the bomb's damage. Building more reactors only shortens time before you get a new nuke and speeds up researching Nuclear techs greatly.

Its possible to have a level 10 reactor, and it seems to speed nuke production.

To get one, build them in tandem,5 sets of two,or build to level 8 one at a time and tandem the last two.

Guess I should have read the thread.................

Yup,found this out by accident myself recently.........I think maybe the AI CAN hit 10,as the 'max_level' is set there as default, just turned off with a ''build reactor - no "............
