Money Question to Warspite:

Does money come and go as easily as in EU1?
I saw this as a major flaw in the game, since I spent all of my yearly income in January of every year since my income was -2/4 usually (0% inflation, har har har!) and even though I had a monthly -2 income (so to say) I never got below 0. So if I didn't spend all of my money in January I would looose it but this way I didn't! Ha!

Is this changed in EU2 BETA? Is money more "stable"?

1430 I began my ruthless plans to conquer Croatia, serbia and maybe bosnia and some venetian land. I wanted mostly a seaport so i could begin building a navy for future endeavors.

I had good allies like poland and lithuania so i had to just wait becuase after a feud between two of my noble families the stability dropped to -2. I wanted good enough stability to wage a successful war. However my army was fairly weak dispite my attempts to improve morale with investement in army policies. Still the serfdom by which my people lived caused the army troops to be woefully inadequite.

1433 after crushing a revolt in moldavia , i reasembled my armies along the borders of serbia and croatia. Stability at -1 i wanted it to be at +2 at least before commiting to a huge war against four nations.

Plague his in 1435 dang it! stab at 0, but closer to war as i build up the army and secretly plan muahahah!

Move troops into bulgaria with turk approval, they will spearhead the attack into kosovo.
1435 october i get +1 stab and declare war on croatia and both bosnia and serbia join the war. I dont call for my allies because venice dropped out of their alliance.

I have about an 85,000 man army vs their 23,000 combined army. Should be a piece of cake. Here i go....

My armies not only beat up a last minute revolt in wallachia, but they obliterated the croatian army in krain.

The serbians came at me as did the bosnians and i lost some ground but thanks to my numbers i came steam rolling right back and put all of serbia and croatia under siege. I could not even touch bosinia as that became the headquerters of the enemy alliance, housing about 34,000 enemy men at one point. They would launch repeated attacks at my sieging armies but thankfully i repelled most of them.

In fall of 1436 i took belgrad and worked on kosovo and croatia yet. Only time would tell if my armies could withstand the repeated punches from the enemy.

Then the worst happened, my god this is crazy. With 37000 troops i began to attack the 30,000 allies in bosnia. I won a few battles as we skirmished in bosnia and serbia, but in serbia i lost about 20,000 men in just two battles, OUCH. it was a crushing blow that i didnt know if i could recover from because they had 23000 troops still.

It was a race now, i had to take kosovo and force serbia to surrender before she took the capital from my control, i had to hurry but all i could do is wait.

1437 another blow beyond beliefe. 2000 bosnian troops smacked into my croatian siege force and routed it, geesh that sucks i almost had the fort taken too. So now it was back to the drawing board in croatia.

Wooohoooo, i beat serbia to the punch. I took kosovo in the siege race and they surrendere kosovo and 300 ducats to my king, YES! Now i had more men free to go after troublesome bosnia.

In summer of 1437 right after i took kosovo i had a border dispute with the king of bohemia. I decided to let cooler heads prevail and we solved the dispute peacefully giving me a bonus to stability and some extra relations with them. I didnt want war with bohemia at this time, so it was easy to agree with them, and i didnt lose any land anyways.

Well the war against croatia and bosnia was going terribly, they were beating me on all fronts and my army was dwindled to nearly nothing. I had extra money but i wondered if it was even worth it. Croatia offered me 228 ducats for peace and i accepted the offer to bide my time.

The war may have been over for now but i would return for more later.

1419-1438 hungary expands to wallachia, transyvania, maros, moldavia, kosovo, bujak.

I also got a new king called ulaszlo I in 1437.

more later

1438 saw my rebuilding of my crushed army. The poor lads gave it all they had but they needed some newbies to fill up the losses. Bosnia has a standing army of 33,000 men so they will be a tough cookie to crack in five years when i attack again.

Two revolts in bujak and wallachia are crushed. In the south turkey was beating up the byzantines. I tried to improve relations with these up and coming turks but they didnt like me because i had no tolerance for muslims. They will soon pay too muahahaha. I gave up about 450ducats in useless diplomacy gifts, baaahh its the kings money so i dont care:D

youst 2??? warspite.. sory for interupting your AAR :(

1.As i can anderstand from youre AAR Croatia is made of province named "Krain" and "Croatia"? Plese tell me did I anderstand it wrong.
Becose province with name Carniola in EU1 shuld be part of Croatia( western part of it) and unther the name "Croatia".. and province Croatia shuld be named Slavonia( zhe idea is that there were no borders changed from EU to EUII regard this area ).
Thers 2 Krain posibe I can figure aut:
1. rename of Carniola to it more slav Slovenian mane Krain or
2. I donth wonth iwen to imagine the horroric image of Krain if it is located betwen Croatia and Bosnia
( this image scares me to death  )

2. I do hope Presburg and Odenburg are Hungarian at start.

?????

Warspite you old dog of war how are you? I just stumbled across this thread and after reading it I'm wondering what type of troops do you have? Do you have cannon or are you restricted to Infantry and Calvary? The little you have written makes EUII sound promising. Keep it up.

1435 october i get +1 stab and declare war on croatia and both bosnia and serbia join the war. I dont call for my allies because venice dropped out of their alliance.

Hi Warspite, there are few things I would like to point out about relations here.

It seems to me that there is an alliance in 1435 between Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Venice. Question is when did this alliance get created? It seems very unlikely.

1) as Hrv123 already pointed out in 1419 croatia should have good relations with hungary. afaik vasall state of hungary, thus it should probably be in alliance with Hungary.

2) South Slavic nations never had good relations with Venice as Venice where occupying South Slavic lands of Istria & Dalmatia and even wanted Ragusa.

Bosnia who had excellent relations and trade agreeements with Ragusa never had good relations with Venice. Venice was occupying Dalmatia and Bosnia wanted also Dalmatia (It was actually ruling half of the Dalmatia but thats another story that I have already told paradox about and posted maps supporting my claims)

Croatia had also aspirations on Dalmatia.

Thus no alliance between Bosnia/Croatia and Venice in 1419.

3) As i mentioned earlier Croats where good friends of Hungary and Hungary had notoriously bad relations with Bosnia. This often caused wars between Bosnia on one side and Hungarians and Slavonians (croatians) on the other. In 1415 there was a huge battle on river Spreca between Slavonian/Hungarian forces and Bosnian forces. Bosnian forces under leadership of Hrvoje Vukcic won thanks to help of Ottoman forces.

Thus in 1419 there is no real possibility of alliance between Bosnia and Croatia. Later it should be possible because of the same religion (catholic) and same south slavic origin that Bosnians and Croats shared/share.

4) Also I find alliance between Serbia and Croatia very unlikely as one state had good relations with Hungary (Croatia) while Serbs despised Hungarians and supported Ottomans in their wars against Hungary (see battle of Nikopolis and how serbian cavalry under Stefan Lazarevic enabled Ottoman forces to win over Franko-Hungarian forces)

5) Alliance between Serbia and Bosnia might be possible BUT i want to see Bosnian CB on Serbia as Serbia had Bosnian king ruling it sometimes between 1370-1390.

And at the end most important thing :)

afaik Paradox still havent corrected religion in Bosnia. It should be Catholic and not Orthodox. I have already notified them of this and supplied texts that support my claims thanks to Huszics (thanks again Huszics) but it shouldnt be wrong if you also told them to change it. I guess if more ppl are bitching about it they will correct it faster.

Anyway great aar and thanks in advance.

Nice AAR Warspite!!

However, I still do not understand why every nation surrounding Hungary seems to have a higher morale, wheras it should be at least equal if not the other way around, given the historical fact, that Wallachia, Moldavia, Bosnia, Serbia (at some point) were all vassals of Hungary???? BTW, can you build cavalry at a lower price than normal, and what about default leaders???? Thanks!!

Cheriooooooo:D :D

Well at least round 2 is going better than your "Lets take on the Turks" campaign ;)

What is the default general value for your Hungarian armies?
Since you seem to be getting beat by a mob of old ladies.....

Well, that depends on whether or not you consider the Bear Flag Republic to have been an independent country or not. Either way, California, like Texas, joined the union as a full-fledged state.
