I'm trying a game as Hungary and chose to kill of my starting general in the hope of avoiding a 10+ year regency. But now it's 1450, and I'm still without a king. How long is the interregnum supposed to last? And is this the best way to get to expand early as Hungary?

Interregnum is pure RNG. So you will just have to wait. Honestly the whole situation is kind of stupid. Janós Hunyadi (probably wrong spelling) should be treated as a king-consort and be able to declare wars, just as he did historically. Being stuck for the first 15 or so years of the game is dumb

This has been brought up more times than I'm capable of remembering since the game was released. I somehow doubt it's ever going to happen at this point, regardless if how much sense it would make or how strongly the community wants it.

Roll back to one of the really old versions where Hunyadi still could declare war. If I remember well, they took that ability away from him when they did the 'regency rework' when they introduced consorts, disinheriting and stuff. Because Pdox wouldn't know balance even if it hit them in their face.
