So I was playing as an RD Ayleid ruler of Anvil in the final bookmark, with the goal of staying neutral in the big war.
Instead, I found myself dragged into the conflict when Mannimarco attempted to conquer me. I killed him, and that apparently gave the defeated Aldmeri Dominion the courage to challenge Cyrodill again. Cyrodill at this point had already defeated both Ayrenn and Emeric so that only left the Ebonheart Pact. The return of Ayrenn into the war with fresh troops allowed her to quickly defeat Cyrodill and claim the throne 40 years after game start.
That was 70 years ago.
Now, the Aldmeri Dominion and Ebonheart Pact are still at war more than 110 years after game start. At this point, Elsweyr and Valenwood have achieved independence (With Valenwood existing as a separate kingdom for only two decades before suddenly being absorbed into Elsweyr)
Since I was curious on what was taking so long, I joined the war on behalf of Ayrenn.
Lo and behold, Warscore was at 0%. Ayrenn had a perfect 100% score from winning all the battles, but she lost all her holdings in Cyrodill granting the Pact a perfect 100% score in occupation. If I hadn't decided to intervene, I wouldn't be surprised if this war extended all the way to 200 years after game start.
It's very interesting, but I gotta know, is it WAD for the war to last so long without player intervention?
