Well first I want to say thanks for a great game with awesome scope and depth. I havent been this excited for a game in a long time and I cant wait to get back home from work to play it. :)

Im quite sad by the negative posts, I dont know what people have been expecting.
For me HoI is all I wanted and more. It works great and has so many cool features I cant describe them all here. I love playing the germans or the russians and giving the famous commanders the right divisions. :)

There are a few things that need to be changed though, I wouldnt have expected anything else with a huge game like this. And since you´re working on it maybe you´d like some sober opinions from an experienced and fanatic wargamer. :)

My thoughts so far, except the obvious such as AI and game balance.

Reserves
Keeping a reserve pool thats activated when a country is DOWed, just like in WIF, would help France and Russia.
Reserves would also mean you could have a larger army than the one shown on the map, you just dont have to give them supplies. They should form in certain rear areas about a week or so after the DOW. The russian reserves should be massive.

Partisans
Have already been mentioned. Germany should need to keep garrisons in conquered countries to prevent partisans from appearing, just like they did in almost every country.

Paratroopers
Should not be able to conquer regions. I conquered Sweden with 4 divisons. 2 MARs and 1 ARM took care of the south via transports, then tied up the swedish defenders. I then sent a division of paratroopers and their transport jumping from undefended region to undefended region conquering the country in a matter of hours. Very unrealistic. If possible paratroopers should only be allowed to jump like once a week. Or be counted as expeditionary forces. They cant hold a region by themselves, they are too few. At any rate, its very gamey to be able to jump several times a day.

Reinforcements
Should take time to appear. I reinforce my units to full strength in deep Russia instantly. Very gamey.

Allies
Should be kept in cheque. I dislike attacking Russia as german from Rumania and seeing the conquered regions go to Rumania since I draw supply from there. I should be able to demand territory from Rumania even though they are my allies.
I solve my allies taking "my" regions by taking military control over all my allies, but I still cant attack Russia through Rumania.

Keep up the great work guys!

I agree with all of these suggestions. I have also suggested that every province should start the game with a Provincial Gendarmerie, which can't fight much but would be sufficient to cause some disorganization if the province is attacked by a single division. More significantly, you can't get economic benefits from a province you capture until you build your own Gendarmerie there, which should take maybe 30 days. If you fail to garrison a newly-capture province with no Gendarmerie, there should be a good chance that partisans will arise.

I don't know about this suggestion thread, but there should be a stickied suggestion thread.

I´d be very interested to see where it is. It should be sticky somewhere.

It is "sticky somewhere" -at the top of the bug forum. :)
