OK, I''m with some free time and want to propose a new AGCEEP 1.54 MP. The thread title explains it, you'll pick a small and hard nation like Granada or Mainz. We'll play on VH/Coward, and possibly away from each other so we have enough room with AI nations to conquer, but this will not be an easy task. Apart from the challenging start, the rules should be pretty standard for an EU2 game.

I'm thinking about starting with Sweden. Surely they're big, but they have a crippled economy and a disadvantageous vassalage from the start and it will be quite long before I feel secure enough to expand, especially with the limited resources early. Anyone's free to choose other minor nations, but the choice will inevitable be directed towards some rogue state or troubled minor in a problematic situation, or even bigger countries like Novgorod that get stabbed very early on with a poor army.

The progress of the game will be reported in another AAR thread.

Anyway, discuss freely, and join if you can.

Very hard dificulty will cripple everyone for ages due to the badboy - and human wars will be limited. Also, while Sweden might be in fact weak as you say (specially economically), it is also true there is a BIG gap between Granada and Sweden.

Anyway goodluck - games with AGCEEP for some reason havent had much sucess around...

To be decided yet. I need more players first.

Granada was just an example, but anyway, you can still choose Novgorod if you want to be closer to a human player. Also, I think the spirit of the game will be to overcome that, and to prevent a great human power from emerging in the early years by giving us a more difficult situation. A challenging game is more fun.

I would advise that it is better you list a couple of nations which should not be played by humans. I'm presuming France, England, Burgundy, Austria, Ottoman Empire, China, Timurids, Vijayanagar, Bahmanid Empire... etc.

But I would like to sign up! :) It'll be my first multiplayer game, however. I hope that is OK? If so, maybe Golden Horde would be a fitting choice? They're powerful from start, but within 20-30 years, they're down for it. Or maybe that's not what you had in mind?

You're welcome, of course. And Golden Horde is an adequate choice, as for the rest it is pretty obvious that these are powerful, especially if you're willing to play VH on Multiplayer: you got to know the game ;).

This sounds like a really fun idea. I would be interested, however, my playing times are quite limited. I also have to agree with EGO about Sweden. Its not really that weak, particularly if there isn't going to be another major human nation near you.

Considering that there's a human in the Golden Horde now, it might be quite different... I generall don't adopt a very aggressive position with Sweden early on because they are too dirty poor and I have to defend my large borders.

Of course you're welcome to join at anytime you can.

Heh, I hope I haven't taken a task too vast with this choice of nation. :D Never ever played Golden Horde, not vanilla, not AGCEEP. Better go practice and learn some events. ;)

Other good choices, IMO; Scotland, Norway (might be a little tight, of course), Tunisia/Tlemcen, Savoy (too powerful? they might form Italy), Swiss (especially after reformation), Livonian Order, Serbia, Moldovia, Georgia, to name a few.

We are thinking of 1419 here, right?

Its an interesting idea, but 1419 is quite a volatile start time for mp games and I'd say Sweden is too powerful for a player nation if you are not allowing any of the other majors played
