The art is Stellaris is superb! Truly. The current diversity of ship designs for the different phenotypes evoke many of the sci-fi genres out there. Humanoids share their ship designs with Mammals. This design is based on the most common concept art for human space ships as big bulky metal boxes. They are great, but another common trope for human sci-fi ships is the classic "Retro" 1960s design, with aerodynamic streamlined bodies. I would like to see a DLC that adds a new ship set based on this design concept for the Humanoid phenotype. I think this would add to the feel of the exploration theme in Stellaris. Players can still pick the Mammalian set if they want to create their Human Imperium or the Avian set for exotic space Elves.
This classic 1960s "retro" design is based in some common features:
-curved streamline design and accent lines
-saucers and spheres
-white ceramic plating color
Examples:
Newer take from Guardians of the Galaxy
What do you think?
