In this, my fourth GC, I was astonished and delighted to see French civil war result in an independent Huguenot nation. (Excellent Avatar!)
The Huguenots came in with four provinces, but now retain only Poitou, Bearn, and Cevennes. As England, I have allied with them and the Scots (Yes, it's 1623, and those Scots have changed religions so many times that my lengthy diplo-annex maneuvers must be constantly restarted.) Soon I hope to incorporated Helvetia as we are all Reformed.
Two Questions:
1. What kinds of Huguenot success has the EU community seen?
2. How can I give the Huguenots their best chance of survival? I would like to see them emerge as a viable, cannibalistic counterweight to France, but their hold is precarious. Is there more I can do besides give them cash? I'm leery of sieging France myself--I don't want French possessions. (God forbid England inherits Huguenots...)
Thanks.
W.
