Actually, China had rockets I think for the whole duration of the game, though they were rather cumbersome, so replaced with artillery when applicable. Still, nice tidbit of information.

It's a bug. Sounds like a history problem after changing start dates.

You're on to something here. When I start the game and start a 1399 game, everything is fine. When I restart the game and click another bookmark, then select 1399 again and start the game, Hungary is the HRE and in the Ottoman-Timurid war Karaman is the leader in that war. There is definitely a history problem after changing start dates.
