[HT] Requested HRE tweaks for the 1st patch

  • I think that enacting reforms is still too easy even if it went from 20% to 50%. In my game, the AI has had no trouble enacting the first three reforms in 50 years. I just can imagine that a player can do this twice as fast.
  • Voting for the Emperor has become an arcane science. Bohemia has been Emperor for 3 straight runs even though it has surpassed its infamy limit, became an eastern blob and ruthlessly beat some of its electors. I loaded up the game as Bohemia and saw that it had mild relationships (0-100) with most of the electors and they would still vote for Bohemia. After loading the game, I made Bohemia declare war without CB on Bavaria (one of the elector) and even though at war with Bohemia, for some time the Bavarians would still vote for Bohemia. Even when Austria, Venice, Hesse, Brandenburg, TO, would declare war on Bohemia, she would still get most of the vote (even if the electors weren't its vassals) and its authority was rising EVEN after snatching provinces and from them and upping its infamy. I couldn't really find a way to KO Bohemia in the eye of most of the electors. Infamy and relationships should come back as the main factors for electing the HRE. I'm clearly at lost as to why Bohemia would still get the votes...
  • Quitting the Empire should really push the authority down a notch of the Emperor. Now, a quitting province will only take it down 1%
  • There should be a way to undo previous reforms of the HRE. That will be up to discussion but if I want to divide the HRE as much as I can, and I have the mans to do it (if I'm France) there should be a way to un-enact reforms. Richelieu's German policy was to undermine the HRE as much as it can so thats what he did in the Thirty Years War. At the end, Mazarin dilluted the Emperor's power even more in 1648

IA makes electors vote for the current Emp too.

Wha? If electors will vote for the current elector over anything else than what's the point. My game has proven that no matter what, infamy doesn't count as to who's the running candidate in the next imperial election. More than that, an emperor who's hell bent on conquest even inside the HRE and without CBs can be reelected with mild relationships to the electors.

I'm opening up a discussion here with fellow players and hopefully Paradoxians.

IA = Imperial Authority

Darkrenown: Is there a threshold for the authority level where they won't vote for the current emperor? I'm trying to become Emperor as Holland, and they won't vote for me even though they have higher relations with me.
