Because the attacked state is always the warleader, it seems that the emperor now almost never gets imperial authority for protecting HRE states. Is this working as designed or an oversight? If this was intended, why the massive nerf to the HRE? I'm not at all sure how you would even go about pushing the imperial reforms now.

Release HRE states?

Does seem like a strange nerf. Quite honestly, the Emperor *should* become warleader when an HRE state is attacked and the Emperor intervenes. He is legally their liege, even if he doesn't enjoy all the usual rights such a position would normally grant.

I believe its an oversight. Used to be the Emperor would be the warleader and the triggers were built accordingly. I also had a war where I was certain I'd get Imperial credit and didn't. Working on a savefile I can /bug as evidence tonight. Pleaese, sumbit yours too if it's reproducible!

I defended Savoy against France. And after a grueling war France finally sued for a white peace. As Austria and emperor i got a +30 IA from ensuring this peace. I don't know if something changed but I thought it was always a flat +20 IA from this?
