HRE Haterz?

In my Eu3:IN game I became Emperor as Austria and when my king died everybody was at -150 relations with me.

I did NOTHING. No war. Genoa dowed the Golden Horde, but I white peaced out for them.

Why is everybody hating on me now? Also, why does my prestige get a -20 hit everytime it reaches 0 again?

Hmm..what year are you in? After 1650 HRE members tend to leave the Empire for a shattering -5 (I think, could be less) prestige loss Per Province Leaving! Thats one of the reasons why your prestige could be dropping.

Leaving the HRE also hurts relations with the emperor if I recall correctly.

No, it's extremely early in the game, I was the third HRE, starting at the grand campaign.
I don't know what I did wrong...

People annexing nations in the HRE maybe? (that'd only explain the prestige hits, I think, not the poor relations)

Poor relations may well be due to throne claims by "everyone".

Hmm... I became HRE again for a second time and had only one war, which was actually won. Genoa against some eastern, non-HRE country. Even then with the peace settlement the relations with all the electors dropped.
Strange.

Select a country and hoover the mouse over the relation number (upper left corner). Then you get information on the estimated yearly change including the relevant causes. Does that give a clue?

Not as likely in this case (IN), but perhaps he has lots of RMs and himself claimed a throne.

I do have dozens of RM. Is that a problem? I never claimed any throne, though.
