HPM crashing on startup

Can't tell the exact reason why, HPM mod page also gives no help or instructions.

I unzipped the files to the vic2/mods folder, with the 'HPM' folder in it and the .mod file.

I don't own the Heart of Darkness DLC, but i do own a House Divided. Perhaps that's the issue? There's no mention of the requirements on their Moddb page anyway.

Anyway, i'd appreciate the help!

Mod functions as expected! I needed HoD, so i got it.

Unfortunately, i'm having a real bad time with it. Focuses don't work as they should, factories are ludicrously profitable, and i'm getting my ass beaten by rebels everywhere. I used to play it with VRRP years ago, and smashed the entirety of Europe, but i've got no idea what to do here.

Any clarification on the inner workings of the mod would be appreciated, as i - unfortunately - don't seem to be enjoying it.
