Note that there is a pre-order bonus, it's just a spiffy alternate skin you can apply to Shadow Hawks and a bonus wallpaper, very minor stuff with no gameplay implication (as should be the case with any pre-order bonus).
It's like a toned down MegaMek in 3D.
I like it. I think it'll be one of HBS bigger games to date. I think one of the more interesting aspects of the game for people will be the 'Home Base' (Argo) ship that you spend time on with the crew.
I don’t understand, does pre ordering get us the game significantly earlier? Or are you just having fun with it?You don't have to pre-order, but you'll be missing out in the meantime. We'll all be laughing and having a good time while you're sad.![]()
Auto bots! Roll out!!!Thank goodness HBS didn't use MW:T artwork, if things had turned out different.
Like their Commando for instance...

But if they do, then technically those who pre-order will be in the game a little sooner because they won't have to wait to download 30 gigs after buying the game. Can I pre-load the game so it’s ready to go when I want to play?
We'll have more details about pre-loading when we get closer to our release date.
There was a gameplay preview some months ago, I believe.
They haven't officially said whether they'll support pre-loading...

The marketing blitz is only just beginning, so not many outlets have done full reviews yet on the final (IE: non-skirmish) product. There's a stream later today touching on the single player campaign, and a few larger name streamers are starting to get access to review copies.
The stream will be archived and available later either as a Twitch VoD or a Youtube (I think PDX streams get the latter first).
My personal feelings on the title is that, while I have some design disagreements with the way that HBS has built the game (NOTE: I am about as curmudgeonly a person as you're ever going to meet, so the fact that I have disagreements is roughly as remarkable as a cat chasing a laser pointer) I am beyond pleased with the way the game has come together and do not at all regret the last two and a half years (plus the opening KS backer moneys) I've put into this community and supporting this team.
Or as the kids say these days....
Dis gun b gud.
