Xenophile/phobe War in heaven hath been declared
AI rebellion is afoot
Preth on the way
Unbidden have taken their first planet
(Used console to activate all crises ...because)

Option 1: side with the more powerful xenophobe AE and collectively crush our enemies BUT endure 25% resource thrall tax

Option 2: stay neutral and watch the galaxy descend into chaos while I pick off the weaklings BUT risk being the target of multiple stronger forces

Option 3: side with the weaker xenophile AE who shares my empire ethos and doesn't want my soul BUT face emminent rofl-stompage from next door xenophobe AE

after that FORTIFY EVERYTHING, BUILD UP THE GRAND ARMADA, ARMIES ON EVERYWORLD.

If you want to continue the game after the war in heaven, don't choose option 3. They won't let you wage war, so it'll be highly difficult to regain your independance.

I'd take option 2. You can take on the galaxy.

FML update:

Went with option 2 (it got the most votes)

Preth bastards just spawned on my doorstep. And right next to my energy-only 7-planet home system (which is also bordering the xenophobe AE). If that system falls, doo-doo meets the fan

DAMMIT!

Of the Crisis the Prethoryn might be the easiest to defeat in a straight up fight. Just go energy weapons and PD/Fighters. If they never get a spaceport, they will not even get reinforcements.

The new Unbidden mechanic means you can wait with killing them - a little. Get too many anchors and thier reinforcement timer will be through the roof. I recently reworked the Wiki-descriptions for them.

The AI Rebellion is a big unknown for me. Many say thier Homsystem will be rushed early on, removing the propably biggest danger. If you have AI outlawed or AI Accord, you are not affected by the spreading of the AI Rebellion Virus.

Option 1. They'll keep you protected from the crises while you build up your empire. Make sure to research destroyed crises ships for them amazing technologies as well as the destroyed ships from a battle between the 2 FE's. Once your strong enough, break free and subjugate the galaxy. Chances of success? Less than 15%, I'd wager.

If you choose the other options you will get rofl-stomped, either by the Awakened Empires, the Crises, or if your particularly unlucky, both.

Alternatively active invincible ships and rofl-stomp everyone in the galaxy. Your obviously not in Ironman mode and can use the console to some degree.

Thanks all. My core system got obliterated and I reloaded

Went with Option 1 but it was a let-down

A third materialist AE awakened to thwart the end-game crises
The 2 opposing AEs then randomly and abruptly declared peace hence killing off the war in heaven
All 3 AEs then owned ALL 3 crises within a year. I never even saw the AI fleets

Now its back to boredom.

(I really hope the devs buff the end game crises cos right now its AEs that feel like end-game crises)
