Are helicopters going to be treated as air units, replacing, say dive bombers, with short range, good tactical attack, but terrible air defense? Or will there be a helicopter brigade attachment or what? Helicopter units attached to US armored forces make them vastly more powerful to other armored forces around the world (just look at the Gulf War). I just wanted to know how they will be used.

They will replace Dive Bombers in there own group. Also, we will have Airmobile, which will replace Motor Inf.

I don't support making Helicopters an independent unit. If you can edit the standard HoI brigades or create new ones, then a helicopter brigade would be great. It would then be the only brigade that you can assign to paratroopers, making them airmobile infantry instead of paras. But that may be just wishful thinking.
Either way, having helicopters as a unit of their own would be like having tank destroyers or assault guns as their own units in HoI.

I'm 100% sure we will use helicopters as an independent unit, since Attack Chopters are almost as important as Attack Planes, these days. Helicopters will not be independent in the case of Helo-Airmobile troops, they will be built into the unit.
