I am not sure what you mean by more than the others? Guerilla Warfare countries have less techs to research overall and they perform better in the mountains etc.... so I am not sure what you are refering to.
Thanks for replying. I know you're a busy man these days.
I'm referring to the New Infantry Tech Tree screenshot posted on the TRP site which have Guerrilla Infantry listed alongside the standard infantry types. Guerrilla Infantry is listed with advances from Great War (blanked out) to Semi-modern, via Early, Basic, Improved and Advanced. Six to seven tech levels, where as Airborne, Marines and Mountain only have four (Basic to Advanced).
As a former professional soldier with international service in multiple foreign scenatios I feel the Guerrilla Infantry isn't warranted a place alongside regular (vanilla) types. My suggestion was to redo the whole thing, remove Guerrilla Infantry from that tech tree and replace it with a Guerrilla Warfare doctrine that would, when researched, unlock Guerrilla Infantry units of a level equal to either standard infantry or mountain infantry of that country.
As such Guerrillas could even be made available to countries other that those you originally intended them for. Yoguslavia and Soviet springs to mind as these had a lot of partisan activity during the second world war. In fact, most countries would potentially utilize such methods defensively.
Which brings us back to the original topic of the thread; how will guerrillas work? You've divulged they're regular infantry units (I assume they can be led by regular commanders), with lower org, that use almost no supplies to maintain but with combat bonuses in certain terrains. All very well, will they be able to move similar to other infantry units or be more static like garrisons? When defeated, will they withdraw or be destroyed? How cost effective will they be compared to militia, garrisons or regular infantry?
