How well does it run on Steam?

Pretty much just want to know what the title says. I actually bought the boxed version back in the day, my first paradox game and the map that came with it was awesome, but I never got the expansion. Since its only 2.50 and I'm hyped for the next one, if I finally upgrade my computer, I was thinking about buying it. However, some of the reviews mentioned it crashes a lot. Personally while trying to run the base game I've had trouble getting it to load, but a reinstall usually fixed the issue.

Really comes down to whether or not you have Win10 for most users.

I'm running Windows 10. I had a heck of a time getting it to launch the first time. Googled the problem and finally found a reference to needing a file called vcredist_x86.exe from Microsoft. As soon as I downloaded that, the game ran fine, and has not crashed or anything since, even though I am constantly alt-tabbing in and out of it.

Since my old computer is not running Win 10 I went ahead and bought it, thanks for the help!
