How to undo windowed mode

I think one of the mods caused HO2 to only run in windowed mode. Is there anyway to do away with this?

The only mod that would do that would be unknown's windowed-mode mod. Do you have a backup copy of the hoi2.exe? If not you'll either need to use a hex editor to modify it (it's just a single byte change) or reinstall the game. (You could also reinstall the last patch but you would probably need to edit the registry to do that; if you don't want to use a hex editor you probably don't want to edit the registry either.)

To unmod the exe look for the string of bytes 01 00 00 00 8B 55 08 89 15 and change the 01 to 00.
