I have a problem.

I'm playing as a Pagan, and the Teutonic Order controls about half of Pomerania and can raise like, 9k troops.

I have access to a Holy Order of 10k men and my demesne can field about 4000-5000 men, but the Teutonic Order's men are like, ridiculously strong.

How can I beat these infidels down?

What kind of pagan? It sounds like you're reformed Slavic/Romuva, which would mean defensive attrition and combat bonus are off.

If that's it, just throw mercs at them.

Actually reforming Slavic/Romuva/Soumensko eliminates defensive attrition, but you get to keep the 80% defense bonus in provinces of your religion. So try to draw the enemy into one of those.

It actually doesn't matter who attacks whom. As long as the province where the battle takes place has your religion you get +80% bonus to defence attribute of all your troops, so they die a lot less than normal.

You go feudal yet? If you're still a tribal, your troops are going to be mainly light infantry which is pretty much crushed by anything else- unless you really bring them en masse.

Other than that, like Dragatus is saying you might want to take advantage of the 80% defense buff you get. Just lure them into your religion's territory and watch them fall.

*checks* True, my mistake.:( Well, that makes things easier for OP.

I'd like to add that if you have time, it might be good idea to wait for crusade. Those HC stacks can't fight you if they're hired.

If you've got the troops you can raid them offensively, hit them hard and burn a province down, then declare a conquest/de jure war for that province and completely control it almost instantly, after that you just need to win a solid battle or two to finish the war.
