How to retain message settings when upgrading?

Hi - I seem to recall there was a post quite recently about how to retain existing message settings when, for example, updating to a new version of a mod, but I can't seem to find the post - could someone either point me to it or to give me the necessary details? Thanks

Message settings are stored in <mod root>\config.eu, so just move the file somewhere else while you install the mod.

yes, for me that's a very annoying thing to do over again when upgrading; up to 5 minutes of valuable play time wasted

Best way is storing your personal config.eu in EU2 root folder (and replace default one there). Values will then apply automatically when upgrading the mod (at least for non beta... A specific config.eu is provided with betas but can be removed before starting first game).
