I also gifted my copy of CK2... but the copy I already own is from gamersgate... will it works with EUIV-CK converter?
Not sure, but I believe you need to have the gamersgate DLC for a gamersgate CK. So, you need the gamersgate converter for a gamersgate CK2.
Noob question: how exactly do I register my game here after I got the key? I have totally forgotten how I registered CK2

It shouldn't. If you already had CK2 on Steam, the gift copy is in your inventory and shouldn't be affected by anything.
Is there separate icons for eu4 preoder and eu4? I have registered the pre order. I do not see a separate eu4 on the my games list.
I preordered via GamersGate. Now I registered EUIV using the steam key. But now I want EUIV to be downloadable from GamersGate - My Library, which is not. I can see the game, it's on the the list of my games, but the big button "DOWNLOAD" isn't there. Is it going to appear any time soon? Or ever? Anybody?
You have the icon with red border = the pre-order icon. The tooltips did not say pre-order before, but it does now.
No, it will not download via Gamersgate, because it is a Steam only game.
I am sorry I do not understand. Yes I have the preorder icon. Is this the only one or is there also a normal eu4 icon in additon to the pre order one and if so it needs to be added to the mygames list.
I did. I just wander how to do it on another PC, which is behind a proxy server and firewall ... Well, it's in my office, and I can't get pass those restrictions and install steam client. Does this mean I can't install it there?
Nope, unfortunately not. You could ask your local admins nicely for the proxy server credentials and a firewall rule -- but I'd wager they'd say "no"

Mine too. So now I have CKII on steam too? That'S pretty sad, seeing as it doesn't do me ANY good (can't use my heaps of DLC with the steam version).
