How to register Pre-Order on forum?

Simple question here. I finally got around to pre-ordering the Digital Extreme Edition of EU IV on Steam. I figured I would try to register on these forums that I pre-ordered the game, but Steam is not yet giving me the CD Key for the game. It can not contact the CD Key server apparently.

Am I missing something kind of obvious here?

You'll have to wait until release to get your key. Some people here already have their pre-order icon but that wasn't supposed to happen.

Ah. So I take it Steam will just assign certain key's the pre-orders then?

As opposed to the non-pre-order keys that is.
