How to register and join multiplayer?

Dear members,

I have a couple of questions for you please;

- having purchased (and extensively studied and played with) HoI III directly from Steam, how could I join please the multiplayer community? Should I register, and where?

- Should I purchase also an additional expansion like Their finest Hour (or another)?

Registering: At the top of the web site, there's - Home, Forums, Members, Register a Game, Paradox Wikis, Support.

Click on Register a Game. There, find HOI3 in the list o' games and put in the code that Steam gives you on its HOI3 page in your game's library.
Doing that opens up HOI3 Tech Support, Mods and Multi-Player sections of the forum to you. You do not have to register the game to play it, just to get support and access to the full HOI3 site.
You'll know when the registration worked by a little icon that will show up under your name in the forum here. HOI3 icon is a little bitty tank.
Registration can be goofy at times, so any problems then sing out here again. Someone might be able to give you advice on how they got around an issue.

Expansions: I suggest you get them. Each one adds functions to the base game as well as addresses the larger bugs that were all over HOI3 when it first released.
The expansion order is - Semper Fi, For the Motherland, Their Finest Hour.
You don't need to install any patches in between. I don't recall if there was a post release patch to Their Finest Hour or not.

No worries.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about game play on this forum. HOI3 has a steep learning curve and we've all needed help from time to time.

Also, when asking questions, please make sure to say what version (base game or expansions, and if expansions, which ones) because the rules change a bit from expansion to expansion.
