Hello everyone,

I've recently bought the CIM Collection, and, first of all, a kiitos to our Finn friends of CO for making such a great game, and to the modding community aswell for making it even greater :)

now, call me oldish, but one thing I feel I am missing is a printable map of the city I'm playing with...I mean, I'd find it much better to have the possibility to think/plan on paper and then implement it...I even remember several months ago having read a post in a forum presenting a program which allowed to create map images, draw transport lines in it and finally print it out (actually, don't remember if it was CIM-related or not)...
so, to the point now...is there any way to extrapolate the city map from CIM, produce a clear image of it (jpg, pdf, or whatever) and finally print it?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Syd

The easiest thing to do is to extract the map files, and open %map-name%.dds
This is the minimap file, it has a very low resolution.
I once attempted to create a map for Tutorial City. I took screenshots of the entire city and attatched them together. Then I used AutoCad to create a map. It is a lot of work, and I don't really have the time to do all the maps.

Thanks a lot for your answer, giladteller...in the weekend I tried to play a bit with the GSFileViewer to extract the maps and with Inkscape, but, as you said, it seems necessary to take the shots directly from in-game and then create the map, which is really a pain...I supposed there was a more straight-forward method or some better maps existed directly from CO...
anyway, again, Rav todot! :)

There is no easy way. I used photoshop to stitch the images together, and then AutoCad to draw the map.
You can print the DDS file without any extra work, but the resolution is very low.
