How to prevent the Iceland event

I am playing as Germany and opposed Hitler. In 1939 i declared on Denmark (guaranteed by Canada). I invaded and fully occupied Iceland before capitulating Denmark but lose Iceland again to do the event while having 4 division there. Should i not be asked if i want to fight for Iceland or give it up?

Do i have to fabricate on Iceland and invade it again or is there a way to prevent it ingame?

There is no way to prevent it. The event does no sanity checks whatsoever.

Why should it?

There is no such thing in this game, I was playing as a historical USA and guess want? El Salvador joined the Japanese EAST ASAI co-Prosperity Sphere in 1938!

After Iceland was a state declare war on it ~ 30 days and its yours

This would be the least immersion breaking option sticking to the game but i just deleted the Iceland event for this playthrought.
