:rolleyes:Hi, I have been reading posts by people who have played the grand campaign [ ck to eu2 to rev to hoi]. I do not have all of these games, but I do have eu2 and rev/vip. I would like to play a 400 + year game as Ethiopia, which is normally a basket case in Vicky and make it a powerful civilized state. My problem is I am not sure of how to best play eu2 in order to transfer in a civilized state. Any suggestions??? If this qestion has been answered before I am sorry but after 7 searchs all I got were a bunch of AAR's.
I also have never written an AAR myself because I do not know how to do in-game screenshots if someone could please explain how I would be very grateful.

When you convert the EU2 save to vicky, is Eithopia uncivilized?

One thing you could do is edit the vicky save, just start the game and save it, open in notepad and find Eithopia in the save, and change the parameters, which means where its says 'primitive' remove the 'yes' and replace it with 'no'.

You can also change the literacy rate if you like.

:)Sorry let me clarify. What I want to know is if there is any particular things that I should concentrate on, such as will building manufactories help with factories when you change over? Are there settings I should be changing such as free trade vs. mercantilism. Also how many military units will transfer over and should you seperate your cavalry from infantry or does it matter? Thanks

I'm not quite sure, as it's been a long time since I used eu2toRev, but I think your civilized status depends solely on your tech levels. Basically, you have to stay competitive in eu2 and then you'll be good in Vicky, too.

Manufactories will convert to factories at a decent rate, but you'll probably want to make sure you don't have all arms & naval ones as they are unprofitable in Vicky at the beginning. Level 5 forts will convert to Lvl 1 forts in Vicky. Military units will convert. Not sure about artillery, but infantry and cavalry work fine. You don't have to separate them. Ships also convert.

Not sure how culture conversion works. I guess your stuck with your primary culture. Pops are created from your population, so it's better to own a couple of highly populated province than vast stretches of wilderness.

On the whole it's important to stay a medium power in eu2. A small highly developed Ethiopia is a nice challenge in Vicky, a Russia spanning the half of Europe isn't. I think you have the right idea there.

PS: Ingame screenshots are taken with the PrintScreen key and saved in the game directory. Or you could just play in windowed mode and use PrintScreen and paste it into a graphics application of your choice.
