How to play Older version Games?

Hi,

Obviously a new update. Can you play older version saved games. Thanks

Right-click EU4 on Steam and go to properties. In the window that comes up go to the betas tab. In the drop down list, select what version of the game you want to play that corresponds to the version you were playing your save in.

This isn't the case for me. Any games I load will not be in Ironman because 'EU4 is running a mod or is altered in other ways.' I have no mods and my two recent files played fine on 1.30.6 before the update.

you need to uninstall leviathan, it still alters the game even in previous versions

I had to uninstall the game and delete all game files manually before reinstalling. It seems some protestant reformation event was screwing with my game files, possibly due to folder restrictions on my computer (I relocated the game files to a location outside of my Program Files (x86) folder).
