How to play Mods without a launcher in Victoria 2

Does someone know how to play Mods without the launcher in Victoria 2.
I play it with te shortcut and there is no launcher

Shortcut should be to victoria2.exe instead of v2game.exe. That will fix your problem.

yea but the shortcut victoria2.exe doesn't work it will only work with v2game.exe

You'll have to overwrite the files. That's a strange issue try reinstalling the game.

I have done that before but doesn't work either I also cleaned my cache multiple times

victoria2.exe is the launcher exe. v2game.exe is the actual game. In order to use mods you need to call the launcher program. Go to the folder where the game is installed and manually make a shortcut to victoria2.exe.

What version of Windows do you have? I have Windows 7 and can create a shortcut to victoria2.exe just fine.

You don't. You need to do what I said and start the game with victoria2.exe. If you can't get a shortcut to that file working, then register your game and make a post in the tech support forum here and someone will help you out.

You can use the launcher or create a shortcut with an modifier added to the end of the target path.
You can skip the movie AND the launcher;

• Create a shortcut to Vicky.exe
• Go to properties, and add -mod=modname.mod at the end

Mine looks like this \Victoria II\v2game.exe" -mod=mod/HPM.mod
