How To of the Metaserver

Is there a "How To" for the metaserver?
I have a question from a french forumer unable to connect in spite of giving the correct password from what he says but I'd like to check if the correct steps are made (and I know nothing of metaservers :unsure: )

Well, as far as I know, the meta server is bugged or unusable. I am from Brazil and have been able to play with American and Europeans friends with Hamachi, you set up a personal network for you guys then use the hamachi IP to connect through the option to connect with IP. Hope that helps!

Indeed the metaserver appears to be down, or at least not updated for 1.08 . But you don't need it to play MP, Direct IP works just as well. You do NOT need Hamachi to play Direct IP, unless your ISP blocks CK2's ports.
