This is NOT tested and the results may prove far from satisfactory, but in theory it should work. Before you even think of attempting this make a backup copy of your scenario files.
To do this you're going to need any Hex Editor, so just download some shareware off of download.com if you don't have one. Open scenarios\1836.eug or your backup GC file, when it loads do an ASCII search for enddate. Just modify that and save. If all goes well and this trick turns out to do work, it should end of the date specified. This MAY NOT work, as I have yet to test it.
