I have no colonies ATM either and I have a PU with France any strategies to gain the new world quickly or did I mess up?
TBRAW transparent political mapcan i learn what is the name of modification you use for map in that picture?
WS cost too high :/Vassalise Portugal?
not much they have really only 1 colonial nation at mostDo you have any idea how much colonisation UK/Spain/Portugal have done?
Of course you have a chance... colonies are easy to steal. Dont fret over them, you do however have to concern your self with blocking them out of the Indian ocean. By no means do you want to let them get into those west pacific Isles... best bet however, is just annex them outright, even if you have to break truces.
Expect to lag way behind in ADM and DIP tech. In fact you may not want to ever buy a dip tech unless you are sitting at 999 diponies. Having to wait for dip points to win a war is the suck.
It's all about adding as many vassals to the empire as humany possibly. I guess you can only do Europe now... but In my previouse WC attempts, I had africa and india in the empire and vassalized. Was creeping up on 200+ imperial states.
Diplomatic, Influence, Expansion, Aristocratic, Espionage. Those better be your idea sets.
thanks guys also im accuring a large ammount of AE with france even though they are under my PU is that intended? its stopping me from expanding as fast as I could
they are hostile towards me btw
this is all I managed to get after 80 years I dont think Ill make it at this pace: how to speed it up?
also buggy units sitting in attriction messing up my HRE vassal swarm
France was getting AE earlier from my truce breaking fighting Spain/Britian and staggering the truce timers from the huge coalitions I got but wasn't able to acquire much in peace deals even with the diplomatic -20%
Disallows independence wars I believe, so feel free to feed them as much as you want. If they get too strong though, they might not support reforms. All of them. and good idea on the perm thing to lower WS cost. But how do I speed up the conquest of the old world? too many provinces in India and East asia I fear...
been transferring the occupation to my HRE vassals to avoid ADM coring cost, if one of my HRE vassals gets too strong can they DoW me? or does the HRE no internal wars disallow independence wars?
don't make my mistake if you want to get their colonies too (you do) you'll need to continually declare war once they get smaller to get their colonies too or else theyll declare war for independenceSorta hijacking this thread. I'm having a similar game, started with Austria and became Italy. Castille is actually independent, just allied and in a war together. They managed to dodge my PU attempt twice and I'm considering breaking our alliance to go after them now. Portugal is under PU with about a 10% chance to inherit. Both of them have 2 CNs. England has 1 colony AFAIK, although large parts of NA aren't revealed since my ideas went Diplomatic->Influence->Administrative.
What ideas should I go for next? Should I go after Castille?
what WC are you going for? Achievement? World domination (no protectorates)? One-tag?Sorta hijacking this thread. I'm having a similar game, started with Austria and became Italy. I guess if I do declare war on Castille I will have to get exploration to make sure I can hunt down any colonies they plop. Hmmmm tough choice.
I was thinking religious or humanism though otherwise, since reformation is hitting really hard and I'm having religious unity problems, and I'm expanding into Orthodox and Sunni lands now so religious could give me a sweet dip free CB (although its not like I really need the diplo tech).
Starting move was basically not taking any provinces at all, tons of imperial liberation (got really lucky when Venice went ham all over Italy after eating about half of the Balkans from the Ottomans), so I got to release Milan like 3 seperate times lol), RMs to major powers to hopefully force a PU, and enforce peace to win defensive wars. I got really lucky with a France PU, when I ended up with a Wittelsbach dynasty and so did France and Portugal. I ended up switching back to von Hapsburg through event, but not before force PU France and Portugal. Managed to revoke in 1491, then promptly declare on Poland and munched on them by peacing out Lithuania by offering to revoke the last reform, allowing me to keep all the vassals without the -3 dip rep. Integrated Milan, a Tuscany that went ham, and fed then integrated Siena with Rome, released Stryia, switched culture, then formed Italy, then gave Rome back to the pope (why the hell does occupation of Rome not go away when Italy is formed? Why is Rome needed to form Italy anyways? Italy formed historically with everything but Rome anyways).
All of them. and good idea on the perm thing to lower WS cost. But how do I speed up the conquest of the old world? too many provinces in India and East asia I fear...
