I'm trying to make independent units stronger over time so the defenders don't become obsolete as quickly. So far I've tried giving the independent player a player prop at the start of the game from title.rpk>setting>aowglobalsettings that gives it's units a flat xp bonus on new turn property, which mostly works, however this also gives them xp every turn in tactical combat as well (which I think is weird). I've tried also giving their unit's a start of battle buff which applies a negative -1 proportion exp bonus but from what I can tell the XP Bonus doesn't actually work with negative values.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a better way to achieve this? As well concerning the independent player, I am curious as to how it works, such as if it's possible to enable them to cast spells.
